Satellite intellectual property rights channel launched

Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) and the Egyptian satellite company NileSat have signed an agreement of incorporation of 'TAG-IPR-TV', the first independent intellectual property rights (IPR) satellite channel, providing exclusive programmes on regional and global IPR issues.

The new satellite channel will focus on the wider use of key intellectual property protection tools including patents, trademarks, copyright and trade secrets in stimulating technological innovation, creativity, research and development, and the use and commercialisation of research results and inventions generated in Arab countries.

"The idea behind establishing a satellite channel dedicated to intellectual property rights is to strengthen awareness in IP issues and give a clearer image on the IP situation in the Arab world," Chairman and CEO of TAGorg Talal Abu-Ghazaleh said.
