Location Map of Crime Foreseeability Expert Witness Directory
Crime Foreseeability expert witnesses provide opinions on the likelihood of a type of crime occurring based on the nature of the premises, its location and crime demographics. The crime experts profiled in this directory may provide quantitative analysis of the crime history of a site and the surrounding neighborhood, the standards for setting evaluation parameters such as the reporting period and the selection of the neighboring areas to be evaluated. These foreseeability experts may testify on mitigating or aggravating factors of crime risk, such as the conditions of the premises (eg: burned out lights, overgrown bushes, infrequent security patrols, unlocked doors, lack of fencing). They may also provide written reports on crime risk due to the nature of the premises: commercial vs. retail vs. residence; late-night hours of operation; age and sex of patrons; serving of alcoholic beverages; public vs. private premises; near-by activities (eg: bars, nightclubs, sports facilities). These crime data and risk analysis experts may also opine on the use of crime indexes from crime data analysis firms and their ability to predict vulnerability to crimes against persons and property (CAP).- United States
