Periodontics United States expert witnesses provide opinions on the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease (aka periodontitis), including allegations of failure to timely diagnose and failure to properly treat the disease. These periodontists may testify as to the standards for clinical and radiographic screening for signs and symptoms of the disease, as well as management of the disease.

Alleged failures to properly manage periodontal disease may include injuries during periodontal therapy such as neural damage, tooth/teeth loss, root resorption, esthetic outcomes (recession aggravation, enlargement of interdental embrasure), thermal hypersensitivity, increased tooth/teeth mobility, and needs for re-treatment.
