Sleep medicine United States expert witnesses may consult on issues in the diagnosis of and therapy for somnipathy, sleep disorders and sleep disturbances, prescription sleep aids, side effects of hypnotics, benzodiazepines and other sleep medications (eg: sleeping pills Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata, Normison), including induced sleep-walking, sleep-eating and sleep-driving, and day-after effects such as drowsiness and increased risks of accident and injury (eg: hazardous driving). The Sleep physicians (aka somnologists), profiled in this directory, may provide expert witness opinions in matters involving treatments for sleep disorders, including behavioral and psychotherapeutic treatments, hypnosis, oral appliances and breathing masks, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, as well as sleep medications.
