Diving Expert Witness Directory

Diving expert witnesses provide opinions and forensic investigations in scuba diving and snorkeling accidents and injuries, in diving operations / supervision and negligence,  equipment failure and product liability, emergency medical responses and aquatic / diving medicine.

The diving experts listed in this directory may have specific expertise on issues involving insufficient gas or oxygen tanks, entrapment or entanglement while diving, buoyancy control, equipment misuse or inadequate equipment training,
emergency ascents and injury or drowning due to rough water.

Diving expert witnesses may have experience in various types of diving: technical recreational scuba diving and commercial diving, emergency rescue diving operations,  as well as snorkeling, free diving and skin diving. These diving experts may provide opinions on standards of care and alleged negligence related to diving agencies and charters, diving operations management and crews, instructor training, entry level and advanced level diving, specialty diving and enriched air diving.

Diving equipment experts may provide forensic investigations and opinions on defective equipment manufacture, damaged equipment and improper use of equipment by operators and/or injured parties (eg: noxious air / bad oxygen).

Diving experts also include diving physicians and aquatic medicine specialists who may provide opinions and testify in matters of air embolisms and cardiac events, decompression sickness, nitrogen narcosis, oxygen toxicity, drowning or asphyxia due to inhalation of water and other injuries related to diving.

Rescue dives are often high risk operations
