Drug Abuse expert witnesses provide opinions on drug-related harm, treatment and rehabilitation standards and determinations of fitness for duty and alternative sentencing. The medical and psychological substance abuse experts listed here may testify as to negligent addiction treatment, standards of care in drug rehabilitation facilities and residential treatment programs (eg: ASAM standards), certification of treatment programs, and accreditation programs, including matters of serious injury and wrongful death. These drug abuse experts may also provide written opinions on addiction in relation to domestic violence, parental substance abuse and children’s social-emotional development in cases of child custody and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. The toxicology experts listed here may provide opinions on the physical harm of prescription medicines, recreational drugs and narcotics (eg: opioides), including overdose and accidental death. Court-qualified substance abuse experts (SAEs) listed here may provide written evaluations of employees to determine their fitness to return to duty, including issues of pain treatment for addicts, and those with acute and chronic pain, as well as opining on ADA protections of those in rehabilitation programs and those wrongly accused of drug abuse or addiction.
