Expert Witnesses & Forensic Consultants Directory

Weapons

Weapons expert witnesses provide opinions on and forensic examinations of non-lethal and deadly weapons used for defense and in assaults. The weapons professionals profiled in this directory may have specific expertise in the use of weapons by police (eg: police batons) and others used by both police and individuals in self-defense such as sprays (eg: mace and pepper sprays), conducted energy weapons (CEW), electrical-discharge weapons (EDW), electronic control devices (ECD), and other “Taser” like weapons. These experts may have special expertise in knives and other bladed weapons, including switchblades, fixed blades, bayonets, machetes, swords, axes and hatchets, or in martial arts weapons, medieval weapons (maces), and hunting weapons (crossbows). These experts may provide forensic knife consulting services in matters of the class of knife or weapon used in an accident or criminal matter: single-edged blade vs. double-edged knives, serrated blades vs. non-serrated knives). Forensic knife analysis experts may also testify in regard to how the incident may have occurred, as well as testifying as to whether knife injuries were self inflicted. These specialists may provide expert analysis and expert witness opinions on biological and chemical weapons, and issues of reasonable force in self defense or defense of property, and on laws related to the carrying and concealment of knives and other weapons.
