Actuary, Jay Miniati, FSA, MAAA, MBA

Jay Miniati is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He has over 25 years of experience, including an international assignment in New Zealand, and has provided his expertise to insurance advisors, health care providers, insurance companies, school systems, attorneys, government agencies and employers, both for-profit and not-for-profit. He regularly presents strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors, C-suite and Insurance Committee leadership of corporate, public, PEO and MEWA organizations.

His areas of expertise include financial management and modeling, actuarial certifications for grant applications, the health care reform law and calculation of its impact on employers, statutory filings, health insurance captives, high deductible health plans, cost projections, trend analysis, reserve valuations, benefit design, premium rate development, large claim analysis, employee contribution strategy and plan performance reporting, all with regard to self-funded and insured health programs.

He holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University and a MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, both earned with honors.
