Adrian B. Blotner, MD

Adrian Blotner, MD, FAPA, chief of pain medicine at the University of Florida Department of Psychiatry, is board certified in psychiatry and pain medicine. He received his bachelor of science degree in physiologic psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed a Harvard Medical School externship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and then went on to receive his medical degree from Louisiana State University. He completed his residency at Ochsner Clinic and Hospital in New Orleans and a fellowship in psychiatry there as well.

He has served as the medical director for the Chronic Pain Program at JoEllen Smith Hospital in New Orleans. He was the chairman of the department of psychiatry at East Jefferson General Hospital in Louisiana from 2003 to 2005. Before coming to the University of Florida in 2014, Dr. Blotner was a member of the faculty at the University of Tennessee Department of Psychiatry in Memphis.

As the medical director at UF Health Pain Medicine and ndash; Springhill, Dr. Blotner has developed a comprehensive pain medicine evaluation and treatment model based on the idea that each individual's chronic pain condition results from a unique combination of physical, biological and stress-related factors. With an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan, those who suffer from chronic pain conditions are able to accomplish reductions in their chronic physical pain and improvements in their ability to function.

Dr. Blotner is a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the American Pain Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Medical Association.
