Served 25 years as Director of the Biomedical Engineering Department at the largest medical center in the country and last 15 years as an independent consultant. Recognized as a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas, Certified in Clinical Engineering by the Healthcare Technology Commission, and Certified in Forensic Engineering by the National Academy of Forensic Engineering. Serves on FDA advisory panels and is the recipient of awards including from the FDA Commissioner, West Virginia University Biomedical Engineering, AAMI, ACCE, and Chinese and Italian Clinical Engineering Associations. Globally active in professional organizations and health technology operation & integration issues. Published books, chapters, and manuscripts and is an invited expert lecturer around the world. Performed over two hundred medical product investigations of both reusable and disposable products. Provided analysis for improvement technology service program, and provided patent infringement review, opinions, and assessments. Serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Global Clinical Engineering Journal (www.GlobalCE.org) and as Interim President of the Global Clinical Engineering Alliance (www.GlobalCEA.org).
