I was the initial Director of the "Go Team" for one of the nation's major railroads. The team was composed of, in addition to myself, of two other experts in their own area of railroad operation. One was a Civil Engineer who had extensive knowledge and experience of railroad track structures. The other person was a Mechanical Department supervisor with extensive knowledge and experience of design, operation and maintenance of railroad freight cars and locomotives. We were the first "Go Team" in the industry. Our purpose was to go to major train accidents to identify the cause of the accident and make the necessary recommendations to prevent such an accident in the future. My expertise was the analysis of the Locomotive Event Recorder and the performance of the locomotive engineer and other crew members. My forty years in the Operating Department as a locomotive fireman, locomotive engineer, locomotive engineers supervisor (Road Foreman of Engines), General Road Foreman of Engines/Supervisor of Air Brakes, General Manager of Train Handling, and the assigned Operating Officer to the railroad's Legal Department to advise, and be their Expert Witness during train accident litigation cases made me well qualified to assist any attorney who may be involved in a railroad operation accident litigation case. I have testified in several state and federal courts, having contributed to out of court settlements and jury trials that awarded millions to plaintiffs.
