Analysis of video recordings as to authenticity, consistency, veracity, and identification. Video measurement for character identification or exclusion of suspects. Edits, erasures, alterations or anomalies of recordings addressed and resolved. Evaluation of video recordings and cameras. Special emphasis on field recording media and methodology in order to provide an opinion as to reasonable depiction of what could have been seen by the participants. Examination of media as to origin, chain of custody, and storage protocols as relevant to validity of recording.

Evaluating recorded evidence principally involves an examination to determine if tampering has occurred, whether intentional or accidental.  In evaluating video-recorded evidence, the intention is to determine if anomalies or editing has taken place. These anomalies or edits are usually identified by irregularities in images, frame rates, time comparisons, acoustic signatures and other factors.
