Dr. Joseph R. Landolph, B.S., Ph. D.(Chemistry) is an expert in chemical toxicology, chemical mutagenesis, chemical carcinogenesis and chemic- ally induced morphological and neoplastic transformation of cultured mammalian (mouse and human) cells. He is currently an Associate Pro- fessor of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology and Pathology, and a Member of the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, in the Keck School of Medicine.  He is also a Member of the Free Radical Institute at the University of Southern California USC) in Los Angeles, California. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Molecular Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy at USC. At USC, Dr. Landolph teaches parts of courses in the following areas: Microbiology Lectures to Medical Students, Microbiology Laboratory to Medical Students, and parts of courses in The Molecular Biology of Cancer (Lectures in the History of Chemical Carcinogenesis, Initiation and Promotion, Whole Animal Carcinogenesis, Chemically Induced Morphological and Neoplastic Transformation of Mammalian Cells),  in Experimental Methods in Pathology (Lecture in Chemical Toxicology, Chemically Induced Morphological and Neoplastic Transformation of Mammalian Cells, mRNA Differential Display, and Use of mRNA Differential Display to Analyze Chemically Induced Morphological and Neoplastic Transformation of Mammalian Cells), and Free Radical Biology and Chemistry (Lectures in Free Radicals in Free Radicals and DNA Damage and Free Radicals in Chemically Induced Neoplastic Transformation and Carcinogenesis).

In addition, Dr. Landolph serves as a part-time private Consultant in Chemical Toxicology and Chemical Carcinogenesis. Dr. Landolph has given 50 depositions and testified in court 15 times. He has served on over 100 scientific consulting matters. Cases Dr. Landolph has been involved with include those on chromium (VI) compounds, insoluble nickel (II) compounds, arsenic compounds, trichloroethylene (2), perchloroethylene, ammonia, hydrochloric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, asbestos (4), benzene and oil-derived products (6), ethylene dibromide, dibromo-chloro-propane, and dioxin (3 cases). Dr. Landolph has served approximately 80% on the Plaintiffs' side and 20% on the Defendants' side. Dr. Landolph has also served as a Member of the Carcinogen Identification Committee of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment of the California Environmental Protection Agency for the last 30 years. He has also served for nine years as a member of the Scientific Review Panel for Toxic Air Contaminants of the Air Resources Board of the State of California (CARB) and has been appointed by the Speaker of the California Assem-bly, the Hon. Anthony Rendon, for another 2 years. He has also served for seven years as a Member of the Scientific Review Board of the U. S. Envi- ronmental Protection Agency. In addition, he has served as a Peer-Re-viewer of Grants and Contracts for the U. S. National Institutes of Health (Chemical Pathology Study Section; Altx4 Study Section; National Instit- ute of Environmental Health Sciences) and for the U. S. E. P. A. He has also reviewed pre-doctoral fellowships for the Howard Hughes Pre-Doc-toral Fellowships Program of the National Research Council, and has served as a peer-reviewer for the National Academy of Sciences Health Risk Assessment of Perchloroethylene written by the U. S. E. P. A.
