Dr. Kathrine Daniels

Areas of Expertise: Psychology — Clinical

Services Include:

Interviews and direct evaluation upon which to base expert opinion. Our assessment determines:

  • the quantity and quality of lost services and benefits for surviving family members after the death of a family member, or in a family that has sustained an ambiguous loss (ie. brain injury or disability, where the person is still alive but not as they used to be).
  • whether or not long-term patterns of providing such services and benefits to family members exists and the likelihood these services and benefits would continue.
  • what is unique to a particular family’s loss based on their structure/function, culture, and patterns of having been provided services and benefits by the deceased or injured family member.
  • how the deceased or injured family member’s services and benefits to his/her family compares to the average for THAT region/culture (e.g. the number of hours a father/mother performs household or child care tasks).

Written report documenting this evaluation and expert opinion

Depositions and Trial Testimony

  • Provide jurors with a research-based family assessment to assist jurors to understand more precisely the contributions of the deceased or inured family member in a particular family (rather than relying on their personal experiences, which can be biased)
