Dr. Thomas Dydek is a Ph.D., Board-Certified toxicologist and Licensed Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of continuous experience in the environmental field. His consulting services include human health risk assessments, expert witness testimony, product safety/liability evaluations including Roundup herbicide, talcum powder products, tobacco smoking related matters, Environmental Protection Agency alternative fuel registrations, toxicity reviews and health effects evaluations, and assistance with regulatory agency air quality and hazardous waste disposal facilities permitting and compliance matters.

He is a technical consultant for the television shows “CSI Las Vegas” and “Bones” and a peer reviewer for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency human health risk assessment documents. He served on the Science/Technical Advisory Committee for the World Trade Center Health Program from 2019-2021.  He has attended more than 140 technical environmental conferences and made presentations at more than 30 of these meetings.

Dr. Dydek has provided expert witness services including the preparing expert reports, affidavits, and “white papers” and providing deposition and trial testimony. He has worked on more than 300 toxic tort cases and regulatory agency Public Hearings, given about 50 depositions, and testified at trial 11 times. He has successfully defended his qualifications and testimony in several Daubert-type hearings.  Dr. Dydek is an independent expert, having provided testimony on behalf of a roughly equal number of plaintiffs and defendants. 

Dr. Dydek has evaluated the potential toxic effects of the following major types of chemicals and microbial agents: organic chemicals and solvents (for example: benzene, butadiene, chlorinated hydrocarbons, dioxins, formaldehyde, methylene chloride, perchlorates, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), shale oil and gas hydrocarbons, toluene, and xylene); toxic gases (ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, nitrous oxide, phosgene, sulfur dioxide, and tobacco smoke); pesticides (chlorpyrifos, malathion, parathion, and Roundup); petroleum products (gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and lubricating oils); metals and other inorganic chemicals (arsenic, asbestos, cadmium, chromium, lead, mercury, nickel, silica, talc, welding fumes, zinc, and mineral acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid); and mold and bacteria.
