— Forensic Toxicology Consultant

Dr. Harry Plotnick has been engaged in providing consulting services in forensic toxicology for more than thirty-five years. His clients include criminal defense lawyers, prosecuting attorneys, attorneys representing both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury litigation, and insurance companies.

Dr. Plotnick received his doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in toxicology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1974. From 1974 to 1983, he was employed as a toxicologist at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Cincinnati. During his tenure at NIOSH, he performed research involving the analysis, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of industrial chemicals.

Harry Plotnick also holds a bachelors degree in pharmacy, a master of science degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, and a law degree (J.D.) from Northern Kentucky University. For the past thirty-five years, he has engaged both in the practice of law and as a consultant in forensic toxicology.

Dr. Plotnick has testified extensively in the courts of a number of states with respect to the effects of alcohol, alone or in combination with drugs of abuse and the prediction of the levels of alcohol in blood and breath after the ingestion of alcoholic beverages. He has also evaluated and interpreted the results of urine drug testing both for employers and employees and for probationers in probation violation proceedings.

Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemicals (including drugs, insecticides, and heavy metals) upon living things. Dr. Plotnick's expertise extends into most of these areas. Telephone or email inquiries about specific cases are welcomed.
