James G. Marx, M.D

I am triple-Board Certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Board of Pain Medicine. I have a 20-year balanced history of expert testimony, having  been retained by both plaintiffs and defendants. I Maintain an active patient practice involving complicated pain management issues as well as dealing with predominately opioid-addiction issues. I am well-versed in the Federation of State Medical Board Policies regarding opioid prescribing by practitioners.

I also have ten years of experience in managing Medical Malpractice defense strategies, having been involved in the defense of some of the most complex medical malpractice cases, including the Las Vegas Endoscopy Center cases of 2009.

I have served on the State of Nevada Prescription Controlled Substance Task Force since its formation in 1997. I have also served on the Nevada Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Board from 2009 to 2019. I was an active participant in the formation of the National Alliance of Model State Drug Laws held in Alexandria Virginia. I am the co-author of 6 papers on the Functional Status of Patients on long-term opioid treatment.

I was the PainWeek 2013-Pain Practitioner of the Year, chosen by my peers in Vegas Seven Magazine as the  2011 and 2013 TopDoc in Pain Medicine and by Las Vegas Life Magazine 2013-Top Doctors in Pain Management.
