I am a troubleshooter. I'm curious. I embrace variety. I find every experience, no matter the outcome, is a unique learning experience. I have degrees in mathematics and mechanical engineering. I have research experience. For my graduate thesis, I used the computer and the finite element method to simulate the physics of laser welding of ceramic and metal materials. To me, engineering boils down to solving story problems and modeling the systems we design and develop using the fundamental conservation principles and scientific laws from applied math and physics. Each engineering discipline is a keeper of their own continuity equation. I like keeping things simple. My true intellectual pleasure come from finding genius in simplicity. I am owner of REDI Engineering, Incorporated, founded in 2006. Through REDI, I provide insight, empowerment, and direction to my clients from the knowledge I've developed and cultivated in the civil, mechanical, and forensic engineering disciplines. With my knowledge and intellectual capital, I've profoundly helped people in ways I hadn't imagined. I apply my intellectual capital towards solving problems unique to buildings or machines. I could go on about the analysis, design, evaluations, research, technology development, and investigations I've done; or the jobs I've had as a software engineer, quality engineer, technical-support engineer, design engineer, physics-simulation engineer, teacher, and consultant. But projects involving people, teaching, and explaining science are the ones I find most satisfying. I am a licensed engineer in Nebraska and Colorado and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers. I have served as President and Director for the Northeastern Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers. I also obtained, by examination a construction document technology certificate (CDT) from the Construction Specifications Institute.
