SPECIAL PROJECTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
I have had many very exciting, challenging and diversified opportunities and experiences during my career in the manufactured housing industry. These undertakings range from large FEMA and Insurance repair, rehab and redevelopment projects resulting from the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. From 1994 to mid 1997 we re-constituted over 2500 homes that suffered varying degrees of damage. The average contract for these projects was $12,000. I was the Prime General Contractor of record and project manager for four large general and manufactured home contractors, one of which was ON THE LEVEL, and responsible for 130+- employees.
From 1997 to 2000 ON THE LEVEL performed large retrofitting and rehab projects for the American Indian Housing Authority (AMIHA) where we reconditioned, repaired and retrofitted 434 manufactured homes on 4 different Southern California Indian reservations from Coachella Valley to Santa Yenez. The average cost per project was $7500.
From 2004-2006 we were in Florida in a joint venture with John Oliver Construction where we provided demolition, repair, rehab, retrofitting and home installation services for FEMA and insurance related projects. We worked in dozens of parks and approximately 1000 homes during this time. Our average contract was $10,000.
Over the 23 years ON THE LEVEL & CREST HOMES has been in business we have been involved with thousands of projects. These projects and services include simple re-leveling of mainframe chassis, installation of earthquake resistant bracing systems, engineered tie-down systems, foundation systems and engineered foundation certifications. Additionally, we provide complete repair, rehab, retrofit, remodeling, room additions, decks, awnings, roofs, cabanas (some 2 story) ADA compliant ramps, lifts, railings and related upgrades and improvements.
More recently Crest homes has established a niche in the beach cities purchasing lots, removing the existing older homes and replacing them with new HUD approved homes. We have also designed a steel framed 2nd story site built cabana for lots that are too small to install multi-sectioned homes.
JOHN DL ARENDSEN
MANUFACTURED HOME INDUSTRY EXPERT, CONSULTANT & EXPERT WITNESS
Enclosed you will find a current resume delineating my background in the Manufactured Home Industry. Please take a moment to review it. We have years of experience in all facets of the industry starting with Golden West Mobile Homes where I worked on the assembly line in Santa Ana during my college years in the 60's
I have been actively engaged as a consultant, expert witness, industry expert and troubleshooter during the past 17 years and have worked with several law firms, park and development owners and managers, dealers, contractors, manufacturers and developers. Please take a moment to review my resume and feel free to check out our website at http://www.onthelevelcontractors.com/.
As experienced expert witnesses we have come to realize and appreciate the astronomical costs and wasted time involved in defending our clients and/or their company in time consuming and agonizing litigation. Hence, we would like to extend our services to you in an effort to minimize if not pre-empt many needless often frivolous claims and litigations.
We personally visit every project and/or jobsite and perform a thorough scope which includes any and all necessary photographs, video recording, field inspection of any type, destructive and de-constructive inspection, and forensic evaluation. We then prepare a comprehensive Power Point presentation that concisely delineates every aspect and line item in question. Our reports and presentations be they in a corporate boardroom, law office or courtroom are very informative and convincing.
Our goal is to keep our clients out of the courtroom by offering investigatory and forensic services designed to minimize the often over dramatized and inflated law suits and dispel fallacious, trumped up and bogus claims that have ended up costing manufacturers, dealers and contractors millions of dollars for the past several decades. Feel free to pass this information along to your legal counsel, manufacturing, technical, service and field operations personnel for their perusal. We are available anytime and are willing to travel anywhere. Feel free to call our toll free number for a fee and rate schedule (800) 909-1110 or email us at onthelevel@cox.net.
