To date, Dr. Sase has served on about 500 cases involving injury, wrongful death, employment law, small businesses/professional practices, and intellectual properties. Including small to moderate-size class actions (largest settling for $46 million), he has helped more than 2,000 plaintiffs and defendants.
Dr. Sase is a professional economist. This means that his work includes measuring and analyzing economic losses; preparing written determinations of these losses; consulting with attorneys and their clients; participating in discovery depositions initiated by opposing counsel; and providing testimony of my findings, conclusions, and opinions in courts of law.
Throughout his career, the majority of the cases on which Dr. Sase has worked have involved the determination of economic losses accruing to human beings over time. These damages are due to severe injury or loss of employment as well as to the losses that beset the families of victims who have suffered wrongful death or disablement.
In order to perform this work, a forensic economist must remain objective while relying upon data, theories, and literature from the sub-field of Economics known as Human Capital, the stock of competences, knowledge, and personality attributes embodied in one's ability to perform any kind of labor that produces an economic value.
His preparatory background has been a Doctorate in Economics with applied fields in Business, Industrial Organization, and Urban Economics preceded by a joint Masters in Economics and Business with additional electives in Accounting.
PERSONAL INTRODUCTION
Hi! I am Dr. John Sase
As a professional economist, I help attorneys settle case early and satisfactorily.
I combine the science of economics to learn about the world with my belief that life is a living/learning experience.
My quest remains challenging and fun.
As I played bass in rock and roll bands to help put my way through college.
While still an undergrad, I met an eminent professor who opened my eyes to the field of Economics.
This led me to earn a double Masters, in Business Economics and Administration followed by a PH.D. in Economics.
(Oh. By the way, some of my band-mates went on to law school.)
Over the decades, I have, taught thousands of students and played active roles in a half dozen for-profit and non-profit organizations.
Since 1997, I have served attorneys by providing determinations for more than 500 cases, giving a hundred depositions, and testifying a couple dozen times in State and Federal courts.
Reflecting on my background in the performing arts, I have come to realize that many experts fail to connect with jurors because of a lack ofstreet smarts and audience skills.
Given my education and life experience, I offer my knowledge and professional skills to help you settle your cases early and satisfactorily.
SEARCHING FOR ECONOMIC CONSULTANTS
AND EXPERT WITNESSES
In searching for economic consultants or experts who may serve as an expert witness and who provide testimony and render an opinion at trial, one often asks “What is an expert witness?” or, if they know the answer to this first question they may inquire as to “Who is an expert witness?” If you are searching for witnesses or consultants with a specialization in economics and related fields who provide services for attorneys, you have arrived on the right page.
An economist, Dr. John F. Sase heads the consulting company SASE Associates, LLC. This firm performs economic consulting, consults for small businesses, and provides services for attorneys who are in need of expert witnesses. Dr. Sase, the principal member of this economics firm, consults on economic and related business matters, performs statistical analysis, determines losses and damages, and provides detailed reports and expert opinions. In addition, Dr. Sase offers expert testimony in concert with other professionals who serve as witnesses from complimentary fields. Often an economic witness provides an expert opinion that supports and is supported by the expert testimonies and opinions given by medical experts, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and other professionals who provide similar services for attorneys.
Therefore, if you are seeking an expert in the areas of economic and small business consulting, as well as a consultant who renders forensic services for attorneys through research, testimony, and opinion as an expert witness, we invite you to peruse the pages, articles, and videos on his Web site — saseconomics.com. We hope that the contents of this site and the accompanying YouTube channels — youtube.com/users/saseassociates and youtube.com/videoeconomist — will shed light on the question “What and who is an expert witness.” Please contact Dr. Sase, either by phone, by fax, or by e-mail. Thank you.
