Karl Leinsing, MS, PE, is the President of ATech Designs, Inc. He has expertise in medical device product development, drug interaction with polymers, plastic part design, polymer selection, finite element analysis (FEA), product design using FDA/ISO standards, failure analysis, expert witness work (patent litigation & liability cases — analysis, reports, depositions, and trials), and patent searches and applications. His medical experience includes intravenous (IV) systems, hernia repair, pumps, syringes, pen injectors, auto-injectors, sleep apnea (CPAP), peritoneal dialysis, endometrial ablation, spinal screws, bed rails, cardiovascular systems, mitral valve repair, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair.  Mr. Leinsing holds over 35 medical device patents in needle free IV valves, laparoscopic devices, urinary incontinence devices, needlescopic fastener devices, sleep apnea, CPAP, catheter dressings, suture lockers, catheters, mitral valve repair devices, and automation (knitting machines) for endometrial RF ablation system.  He is also the winner of five design awards, has been recognized as one of the top medical device professionals in the country by Medical Device & Diagnostics Industry Magazine (MD&DI), inducted in the medical device hall of fame, and one of his devices was pictured on the cover of LIFE Magazine.  He continues to be active in the medical device field with new devices and lectures at conferences, webinars, and was recently chairman for he Medical Device & Manufacturing (MD&M) Conference in Anaheim, CA.
