For example, today there is an epidemic almost of performing several hi tech tests in the lab that ultimately have no bearing on the expert fact at issue. This runs up the bill and perplexes the opposing attorney who wonders how to find out about these brilliant scientific activities. Some attorneys demand such expensive and destructive tests as chemical ink analysis on your original documents in order to bamboozle you into offering a settlement to an otherwise meritless claim. How does one know whether the technical underpinnings of these demands are in any way valid?
