Mark Girard Siegel, M.D.

      My clinical practice and experience is based on my specialty in joint reconstruction, knee replacement, sports medicine and joint arthroplasty. My practice did consist of direct patient care,, administrative, supervisory and quality assurance overview.

     Having ceased active clinical practice in 2017. medical consultation services are performed under the corporate name, Mentis Medica. I continue to maintain an active and unrestricted medical license in Ohio.

     As the Medical Director of Orthopaedics at the Jewish/Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio and the medical director of Genex BWC/Ohio, my responsibilities involved the review of standards of care and patient treatment. This has included formal analysis of medical records with written opinions regarding the quality of care, indications for treatment, and evidence proven standards of medical practice. 

     Current responsibilities include Associate Editor for the Journal of Arthroscopy, peer reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine, and  Systemic literature review and Development Editor for Ebsco/Dynamed online orthopedic medical information. I am involved in the  Fellowship program education and teaching at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center. Having performed over 4000 knee replacements and 35 years of performing joint reconstruction and general orthopedics, I have expertise in the evaluation of the standards of care of almost any knee or general orthopedic procedure.

     I have performed and been deposed in both local, state, and federal court for issues of malpractice or personal liability. A personal appearance will be performed if necessary.

     All appropriate cases will be reviewed. An opinion on the merits of the case will be given within five business days. A written review may be requested following a verbal discussion of the case.

          If requested or needed, my review will include information that includes supportive peer review references. Necessary direction and published references are given to assist in the understanding of a difficult case.

          Upon receipt of a request for review, information should be sent and a preliminary evaluation will be performed within five business days. Following the review, the information will be discussed and a decision made as to how to proceed with the case.
