Areas of Expertise: Questioned Documents
As a civil and criminal court qualified forensic document examiner and expert witness, my mission is to assist clients in understanding the evidence that is presented in questioned documents of all types. The evidence speaks the truth without regard to bias from the document examiner or undue influence from outside sources.
As a forensic document examiner I partner with legal clients to dissect the evidence presented in handwritten, computer-generated, and printed questioned documents. My forensic expert witness services have been delivered in Los Angeles, Monterey, San Diego, Riverside, Orange and San Bernardino Counties in California. Testimony has been given in federal district courts. I have been retained for cases in 27 states, 4 Canadian provinces, and 5 countries.
Prior experience includes 30-years in information systems and quality engineering. I apply my scientific training to examine questioned documents — a court requirement. This generally accepted valid approach often produces winning arguments. Generally accepted practices such as SWGDOC standards are used. My laboratory is well-equipped and includes a large forensic reference library. Equipment used includes state of the art VSC80 HD, ESDA Lite, digital microscopes, and high grade scanners.
Having trained with some of the country's best speaking coaches, I am skilled at explaining complex evidence with clear exhibits, easy-to-understand "jury speak" language and descriptive pictures. My courtroom approach uses stories and analogies to teach and engage the trial participants—attorneys, judge and jury.
