As a vascular access specialist and nurse educator I review cases, assist in developing case strategies, provide research, opinions and testimony as needed. My specialty is IV access with adults and children. I am a national expert on PICC Lines and central venous catheters. I provide the service of nursing expert witness. I frequently review cases, and provide referral information for plaintiffs and defendants, hospitals, home infusion, home care, other medical facilities and patients, but only within my area of specialization. As a PICC Line specialist and educator I am up to date on all areas of intravenous access, primary complications, etiologies, preventative measures and the standard of practice. I have no problem speaking or testifying in front of groups, depositions are a normal part of my work. Legal review is approximately 10% or less of my overall job as a consultant, with the other percent spread including curriculum development, speaking and work as a staff nurse. I have been a nurse for 37 years working in neonatal, pediatric and adult intensive care areas, home care, home infusion, long-term care and as a hospital consultant. My areas of specialization include: Midlines, PICC Lines, central and peripheral venous access, home care, pediatrics, neonates, geriatric concentrations, education, Standards of practice, intravenous training and insertion with all populations. My training was received at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston,Texas and PhD from Griffith University in Nursing Research. Additional medical training included two years at CETEC Universidad in the Dominican Republic as well as an externship in OB/GYN at BaptistMedicalCenter in Jacksonville, FL. I am certified as a PICC Ultrasound Inserter (CPUI), as an intravenous specialist (CRNI) by the Intravenous Nurses Society (INS), since 1987, and board certified through the Association of Vascular Access (AVA) VA-BC. I am a frequent National/International speaker, author and recognized expert in areas of vascular access. I am actively involved with the Association of Vascular Access, prior Treasurer and Director at Large on the Board of Directors X2 and active member since 1997. I work per diem at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC on the IV/PICC Team.

Legal consulting is offered specific to PICC Lines, Midlines and intravenous therapy issues. Record review with development of strategies and opinions of merit are provided. Expert testimony is available. As a vascular access specialist and nurse educator, I provide legal services to: review cases, assist in approach strategies, and provide research, opinion and testimony.
Rates are structured on flat rate, hourly rate, and per day rate as follows: Initial review is a flat rate of $3500 including record review, phone consultation, and affidavit; sent as a retainer (includes up to 7 hours of initial work). The hourly rate for assistance after the initial 7 hours, deposition preparation and testimony is $350. Travel outside of 80 mile perimeter from my office is at the per day rate of $3500 and includes trial testimony day(s). Travel within 80 miles of office is billed at the per hour rate of $350 and applies to deposition, testimony, and other related work.
