Nicholas Albergo is a founder of HSA Engineers Scientists, a 300 person environmental and engineering consulting firm with fourteen offices located throughout the southeast United States.  Mr. Albergo possesses extensive domestic and international experience in contamination assessment, degradation and migration analysis, water/wastewater treatment and permitting, and soil groundwater remedial strategy.  He has provided expert testimony on cases involving landfill design, environmental assessment and remediation, advanced hydrogeology, geochemistry, water quality/treatment, and sensitive regulatory compliance issues both in the U.S. and abroad and also serves as an arbitrator on the AAA Roster of Neutrals.  He is well versed in both domestic and international environmental regulations, and helped form the guidelines that are routinely used as the environmental blueprint for the assessment of properties involved in real estate transactions.  He is routinely invited to speak at various academic, public interest, and corporate seminars on environmental issues.  He has chaired several scientific conferences, served on expert advisory Boards, and has over 180 technical publications to his credit.  The emphasis of his graduate work has been in the area of bioremediation, which was funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.  He was part of an EPA Task Force that wrote the regulations for the implementation of the Small Business Liability Relief Brownfields Revitalization Act, and one of the authors of the ASTM E1527 E1903 Standards.
