Dr. John Garlich is an orthopedic surgeon based in Los Angeles, CA, with a subspecialty in orthopedic trauma. He completed his education and training at notable institutions, including a residency in orthopedic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Memorial Hermann — Texas Medical Center. Dr. Garlich holds a BS in Biology from Saint Louis University, a medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, and a Masters in Healthcare Delivery Science from Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Garlich earned his B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University (2005–2009), followed by his M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine (2010–2014), where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (2014–2020), along with advanced training as a Cedars-Sinai Clinical Scholar and Orthopedic Trauma Research Fellow. During this time, he also obtained a Master's Degree in Health Delivery Science (MHDS). His fellowship training includes the prestigious Martin Allgöwer AO Trauma European Fellowship at Charité Hospital in Berlin, Germany (2020), and an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (2020–2021). He joined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as an Orthopedic Trauma Attending in 2021 and was appointed Fellowship Director for Orthopedic Trauma in 2025.

Throughout his academic and professional career, Dr. Garlich has received numerous scholarships, honors, and national recognitions for excellence in clinical performance, research, and leadership. These include multiple academic scholarships during medical school, clinical rotation honors across all core specialties, and election to Alpha Omega Alpha. He has earned several prestigious research awards, including Young Investigator and Resident Research Awards from the Western Orthopedic Association, the OREF Resident Research Award, and selection for the Orthopedic Research Society Clinician Scholar Career Development Program. Notably, his AAOS 2019 “Game Changer” podium presentation was one of only six abstracts selected nationwide for its potential to significantly impact the field of orthopedics. He also received the Leo G. Rigler, MD Award in 2020, recognizing outstanding leadership and academic achievement as a graduating chief resident.
