- Barton DeLacy brought 35 years of valuation and counseling experience to DeLacy Consulting, LLC, a Chicago-based boutique real estate advisory firm, founded in 2013. Specializing in valuation counsel, appraisal services, property tax consulting, litigation support and Green Energy Valuation, DeLacy's experience spans North American geographies, touching virtually all property types. In his recently concluded 15-year corporate career, DeLacy held practice leadership roles with Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and Arthur Andersen.
Published in The Appraisal Journal, Real Estate Issues and The Journal of the Center for Real Estate Studies, he has prepared testimony for Federal and state energy siting councils. He is qualified to testify as an expert witness at both federal and state levels and is a subject matter expert in property tax disputes.
DeLacy has a Bachelors of Arts degree in history from Oregon's Willamette University and a Masters in Urban Planning from Portland State University. His professional appellations include the CRE ® designation awarded by the Counselors of Real Estate and the Appraisal Institute's MAI. DeLacy is a member of Lambda Alpha International and the Realty Club of Chicago.
Energy:
Focusing on the real estate implications of power generation, Mr. DeLacy has built valuation models and studied property value impacts for geo-thermal, solar, wind and coal-fired power generation. He has also developed adaptive re-use studies for obsolete thermal plants. Serving as a subject matter expert, DeLacy has prepared reports for bankruptcy and property tax proceedings.
