Professional Experience

• Peter joined the firm in 1983 after graduating from Loyola University. He has been a Partner since 1993.

• He has testified as an expert witness in Federal, State and Local courts on a variety of forensic & investigative accounting matters including business valuation, loss of profits, breach of contract, shareholder disputes, etc.

• Representative litigation and arbitration matters include: loss of profits as a result of a cancellation of a concert event, tortious Interference damages related to a mortgage brokerage with multiple offices, business valuations in a variety of industries, loss of profits alleged as a result of franchise dispute, subrogation actions, arbitrations involving GM automotive dealership terminations and insurance disputes involving a variety of industries.

• Peter has been engaged on hundreds of matters involving the quantification of damages, including lost profits, extra expense, construction damages, data breach and data loss, breach of contract, hotels, hospitals, nursing home facilities, aeronautics, grain processing and transportation, embezzlement/ misappropriation schemes and financial condition analysis.

• Karutz is the Cyber practice leader and head of IT for the firm. He was retained in the GM automotive dealership termination arbitrations as set forth by the United States Congress, his testimony related to the profitability, capitalization and economic viability of various auto dealerships.

• These matters have ranged in magnitude from $5,000 to in excess of $900 million.
