Phyllis Ho, DDS

Dr. Ho received an A.B. from Cornell University in 1983 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) in 1988. She achieved a certificate from the Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry from NYUCD and completed an externship at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital in Hong Kong, both in 1989.
Dr. Ho has also rendered volunteer care in Ghana, Ecuador and Vietnam. She received an American Dental Association Recognition Award for Volunteer Service for the work in Ghana.
She works as a dental consultant for the Suffolk County Office of the Medical Examiner, she has been an active reviewing member of the National Dental Image Repository (NDIR) under the aegis of the FBI since its inception. She has taught at NYUCD, at Stonybrook University College of Dental Medicine and at John Jay College of Criminal Justice as a
guest lecturer. She has presented in NYC, Minnesota, Vermont, Cologne, Germany, Kathmandu, Nepal, Lyon, France at Interpol on Forensics and is a co-author on Abuse in the Forensic Odontodtomatology IOFOS
textbook. She is a member of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) writing standards in
Forensics as part of the Odontology Sub-working Group.
Her distinguishing hobby is in long distance open water and cold-water swimming. In April 2019, she became the 32nd person since 1976 and the oldest female to date to complete an non-wetsuit crossing of the Strait of Magellan in Patagonia. There are 35 people who have completed this swim
