Capt.Robert Kochan ME, CMI, DABFET, FACFEI, CEO Forensic Marine Investigations

Capt. Kochan received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Catholic University of America, where he majored in Mechanical-Ocean Engineering. He earned the Diplomate designation by test and was later a member of the founding board of the American College of Forensic Engineering and Technology.  Capt. Kochan has over 40 years of professional mechanical equipment and system design, vehicular accident investigation, consumer product defect analysis, petrochemical process system design, and manufacturing system and vessel operational & safety experience. He has been qualified as a Mechanical, Marine, Forensic engineering and accident reconstruction expert in District, State and Federal courts — specifically recognized as a specialist in mechanical system design defects, product defect analysis, vehicular accident reconstruction, forensic analysis procedures and marine vessel operational safety. Capt. Kochan enjoys spending weekends aboard his Jeanneau 54DS — 'April Wind' or searching for the family's next cruising trawler,  or reading and attempting to master digital photography.
