Robert L. Rowe — Pyrocop, Inc.

Robert Rowe, retired from a 26-year fire service career in 2007 after serving 18 years as Deputy Fire Marshal and Acting Fire Marshal for the City of Downey.    During his career, Robert gained extensive knowledge in the fields of fire prevention, hazardous materials and fire investigation.

In 2006, Robert formed his own fire consulting company, Pyrocop, Inc. which specialized in fire origin and cause investigations, fire/explosion case review and expert witness testimony. His areas of expertise include fire origin and cause, fire and building code analysis and interpretation, fire code/ordinance development, hazardous materials storage and handling, automatic fire protection systems and plan review.

He has served as past president of the Los Angeles Area Fire Marshals Association, Fire Prevention Chair of both the Los Angeles Fire Chiefs Association and Area “E” Chiefs Association. 

Robert has served in the past as a member of the Code Development and Interpretation Committees for the National Code Services Association and has completed a seven-year term as Committee member of National Fire Protection Association's Fire Code Committee.  Robert also served as past president of the Area E Arson Task Force, which included the cities of Downey, Montebello, Santa Fe Springs, Compton, Vernon and Long Beach.

He maintains active memberships with the National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association; California Fire Chief's Association, Southern California Fire Prevention Officer's Association and is currently serving as a committee member for the Forensic Expert Witness Association, Orange County Chapter.

Mr. Rowe is an active member of the California Conference of Arson Investigators and the International Association of Arson Investigators who maintains his certification as a fire investigator through both organizations in addition to his Private Investigator's license in the State of California. 

In 2007, Robert assumed the role as Executive Director of the Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board of Southern California who represents over 50 fire sprinkler contractor's in the greater Los Angeles area.
