By means of introduction and qualifications, I am a board-certified specialist in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, and sleep disorders, with extensive experience as a pulmonary physician since 1983. Since 1997, I have also been certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as a Radiograph Grade B reader. Throughout my career, I have held faculty positions at several medical schools, including the University of Tennessee, McGill University, Rutgers–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and most recently, the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. My research background focuses on diaphragm function and chest wall mechanics. I was honored to receive the Edward Livingston Trudeau Research Fellowship from the American Lung Association during my tenure at the Meakins-Christie Laboratories of McGill University. In addition to conducting basic and clinical research on respiratory muscles, I have taught pulmonary physiology to medical students, residents, and fellows at multiple academic institutions.

My medical practice emphasizes outpatient and hospital care in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, sleep disorders, and critical care. Over the past forty-seven years, I have conducted approximately 270,000 patient visit types across seventeen U.S. states and five foreign countries. I am recognized as an expert in occupational lung diseases and have provided testimony in federal and state courts in Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. As a NIOSH-certified Grade B reader, I have reviewed approximately 32,000 chest radiographs related to occupational pulmonary conditions. Additionally, I have served as an adjudicator for matters concerning quality of care, disability, and workplace impairment.

Throughout my career, I have managed patients with a wide range of conditions, including congenital, iatrogenic, immunologic, infectious, idiopathic, metabolic, toxic, and traumatic pulmonary disorders. Beyond my clinical experience, I have extensively reviewed peer-reviewed literature to stay updated on advancements in the field. Key sources include The American Review of Respiratory Disease, Chest, The Cochrane Database, Google Scholar, The Lancet, Lancet Respiratory Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine, PubMed, and Thorax.

As a fellow of the American College of Physicians, I adhere strictly to their guidelines for expert witness testimony.
