Since 1973, Dr. Imber has continued to serve as a Professor of Special Education as well as an advocate, consultant to parents and schools, an independent educational evaluator and as an expert witness.
He has testified in federal court, special education hearings, and in superior court for matters of criminal defense. He has served as an expert for case preparation for matters of special education, criminal defense, personal injury and matters of child custody where education or special education is of concern. He has testified in several cases where parents do not agree on where the child should attend school.
His work has also included school safety and matters of wrongful death for students with disabilities.
He has worked on cases with children, adolescents and adults with a broad array of disabilities including but not limited to ADHD, Autism, Cognitive Delays, Developmental Delays, Learning Disabilities, Multiple Disabilities, Serious Emotional Disturbance, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
He has been involved in cases from the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.
