As a digital forensic expert and licensed private investigator in the state of Texas, Ted Swailes has over thirty (30) years of investigative and technical security experience working with major corporations and law firms. He has brought technical expertise and support services to Swailes Computer Forensics engagements in computer crimes and breaches, intellectual property theft investigations, asset tracking, internet fraud, as well as civil and criminal investigations. This expertise has contributed to successful outcomes with live trial testimony, depositions, affidavits, and statements of fact in State and Federal courts. In 2008, Mr. Swailes' extensive expertise in Digital Forensics contributed to the development of the University of Houston-Downtown's Masters of Security Management for Executives program. His design and creation of a computer forensics and cyber security course was integral to the program. Concurrent with this, as an adjunct professor, he taught the initial courses exposing students to advanced concepts in computer forensic analysis including the methods of collection, preservation, analysis and presentation of digital evidence in the course of a digital forensic investigation. Mr. Swailes' areas of expertise include: trade secret theft investigations, computer crimes and breaches, non-compete agreement violation investigations, misappropriation of intellectual property, asset tracking, internet fraud, civil investigations and criminal proceedings. Mr. Swailes focuses on assisting corporations, law firms, and law enforcement agencies in the proper forensic acquisition, investigation and analysis of digital files and data. Using scientific tools and methodologies that are accepted industry practices, he has developed proper storage techniques and reporting procedures for acquired data relative to its use in civil, criminal and administrative matters.
