McGreal Forensic Engineers, P.C. was founded by Timothy R. McGreal, P.E.  Mr. McGreal has performed more than 1,100 investigations for insurance and legal clients on claim sizes up to $500,000,000 throughout North America including the Continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico. Mr. McGreal holds a MS degree in Fire Protection Engineering (WPI), and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (IIT).

Our consultants and forensic experts provide local expertise to plaintiff and defense attorneys and the insurance industry.  They are qualified by education, registration, and years of hands-on experience to successfully support cases and claims involving damages, defects, and personal injuries.

Mr. McGreal has expertise in fire causation analysis of equipment (furnaces, boilers, water heaters, vehicles, fuel systems, and design/failure analysis of fire sprinkler systems, alternative automatic fire suppression systems, and fire alarm systems, and has experience conducting litigation support services, plan review, code consulting, and computational fluid mechanics fire modeling (CFD).  Mr. McGreal has been awarded with patents for a fire safety product he conceived, developed, and manufactured (Alarm Arm).

With respect to Mechanical Engineering, Mr. McGreal has extensive product liability & failure analysis experience and has investigated losses involving consumer products, autos, trucks, trains, industrial/manufacturing equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, fuel-fired appliances, and HVAC equipment.  Mr. McGreal is a product design and product warning expert.  In addition, he has more than 25 years of machine and product design experience Including but not limited to heavy duty agricultural equipment, automated machinery, nail guns, and portions of the National Missile Defense (“Star Wars”) program.
