Weston J. Welker, MD
Areas of Expertise: Emergency Medicine
I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine in 1980, and finished my Internship and Residency with the U. S. Army at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Ft, Gordon, GA, in 1983. Following four years more of active duty, I began my family practice in Huntsville, AL, and augmented that experience with various rural ER assignments. Several years ago, I transitioned into working in the ER full time, and began to learn legal medicine from SEAK instruction. In working with legal cases, I have been requested to opine in 22 cases over the last five years. I have also been trained in wound management from the Healogics system approach, initially based in military experience. I maintain my ER certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS, and work with all ages as needed. My expertise is broad.
I am married, have three children and five grandchildren, and enjoy the outdoors and the arts, and travel whenever possible.
