Mr. Switalski Holds Bachelor of Science (1980) and Master of Mechanical Engineering (1989) degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology (now Illinois Tech) in Chicago, Illinois.

Since 1980, he has specialized in safety consulting in the Mechanical Engineering field throughout the United States.  Clients include product manufacturers, insurance claims adjusters, workers compensation attorneys, and Defense and Plaintiff's attorneys.  In 2004, Mr. Switalski established Switalski Engineering Inc.  Switalski Engineering provides forensic engineering investigative and consulting services in Product Safety (both Consumer and Industrial), Construction Machinery Safety, Industrial and Farm Equipment,  Premises Liability, Failure Analysis, Procedural Safety Practices, and Mechanical Maintenance Safety.

The services provided typically include Incident Scene Documentation; On-site and Laboratory Evidence Inspection; Non-Destructive Testing; Customized Destructive Testing of Exemplar Product(s); Witness Statement and Testimony Evaluation; Installation, Assembly, User & Safety Manual/Instructions Evaluation; Safety Signs and Warnings Evaluation; Product Design Review and Analysis; Use and Misuse Analysis; Product Repair and Maintenance Analysis; Evaluation of Operator and Maintenance Personnel Training; Literature Research of Safety Codes and Standards, Competitive Products, etc.; Assistance with Technical Questioning of Witnesses; Assistance with Physical Science Concepts and Technology; Preparation of Expert Opinion Reports and Expert Opinion Interrogatories; and Deposition and Trial Testimony.

Mr. Switalski has also been involved in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) ladder safety committee (A14) since 1995.  He is the current Chairman of the A14.7 Sub-committee for Mobile Ladder Stands and Mobile Ladder Stand Platforms as well as a voting member of the A14 Executive committee which oversees all safety standards in the ladder family.  In addition, he serves on the A14.8 Sub-committee for Ladder Accessories, the Ladder Labeling Task Force and the A14 Steering Committee.

Mr. Switalski also has more than 40 years of experience in the consumer and industrial maintenance field including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
