Omar David Hussamy, MD, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine, including Total Joint Replacement, and Hand Surgery. He has been in active clinical practice for 30 years. He treats patients with shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip and knee conditions, including arthroscopic surgery of all joints and total joint replacements. He has performed over 10,000 primary and revision total hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasties.
He has participated in expert witness and medical malpractice cases on multiple occasions. He provides evidence-based opinions in all areas of orthopedic surgery. He provided expert opinions for plaintiffs and defendants. He is available for live and zoom trial testimony. He regularly performs Independent and Compulsory Medical Examinations. He is an Expert Medical Advisor for the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation.
Dr. Hussamy received his Bachelor of Science with Honors, from St. Andrews University, Scotland. His Medical Degrees from Churchill College, Cambridge, England and the University of Virginia, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed a Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of North Carolina and his Fellowship under Dr. Frank McCue at the University of Virginia. He has served as Team Physician for the Los Angeles and Vero Beach Dodgers, and for several local high schools.
