Russell M. Keeler, P.E., LEED — Chason Energy, LLC
Areas of Expertise: HVAC & Plumbing
Russ Keeler is a mechanical engineer who has spent over 40 years in the practice of HVAC and plumbing engineering. He has served as project engineer, mechanical engineering department head, engineering principal in an architectural firm, and principal of his own Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) consulting engineering firm, Chason Energy in Golden, C.
During his career, Keeler has divided his practice between new building design and troubleshooting of HVAC system problems. He is skilled at “taking the temperature” of an HVAC system to diagnose the causes of the system's malfunctions. On the basis of these findings, he develops a renovation design to correct the problems.
Keeler's design experience runs the gamut of building types, including laboratories, hospitals, educational facilities, multifamily residential buildings and airports. He is expert in solving HVAC driven condensation/mold problems and other dehumidification issues. Several of his design have been award winning, including the SmithKlineBeckman animal laboratory, for which he won the Owens-Corning Energy Design competition, and several engineering society awards for a single pipe chilled water distribution system at the Youthful Offender System facility in Pueblo, Colorado.
